Rye Pier (February 2014)

This layout is for the Stuck on U Sketches April 25th Sketch Challenge. I really enjoyed putting this layout together using Celeste Knight's Birds of a Feather kit with the challenge sketch. I bought this kit a while ago but hadn't found the right project to use it for. 

This 12x12 layout will go opposite some more photos and journalling in my Project Life album. The colours of these papers, and the rain drops, birds and feathers patterns are all perfect for these photos. We went on a beach holiday and it was rainy and cold most of the time. After walking down the pier until we were so cold we had to turn back, my husband and son ran around to warm up, and to scare sea gulls so they could see them fly away.

March Calendar page: Wedding Photo

Another page from my 2010 Calendar. This one celebrates our wedding, six years ago! Allison McKellar took our photos.

This page was really easy, because I used a beautiful template from Pickleberry Pop (an Australian digi scrapbooking site). But I did alter it a bit and added some extra embellishments. I created the resin "&" in Photoshop.

February 2010 Calendar artwork

 

This is the February page from my calendar, which I printed at Snapfish. The photo I took in the British Museum (and was promptly told off for! - oops!)

All the design elements here are my own creations. The butterfly is a scanned image of a watercolour painting I did on holiday at the beach :) The yo-yos I made myself, photographed and recoloured (originally pink). The buttons I photographed were vintage buttons belonging to my grandmother. There is also some of her lace there and some scanned torn cardboard. The stitching, ribbons, and fabric flowers I created in Photoshop. The doodled flowers were hand drawn and then refined in Illustrator, and the background paper was created in Illustrator.
